Dr. David LaPlaca, DPT, PhD, MBA
Physical Therapist
Dr. LaPlaca brings a deep background in physical therapy, kinesiology, strength and conditioning, and performance coaching to FYZICAL Delran.
He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Arcadia University in 2022. He also holds a PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Georgia, a Master of Business Administration from Clark University, a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from The University of Alabama, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sports Management from Guilford College.
Before becoming a physical therapist, Dr. LaPlaca spent nearly a decade as a collegiate and private-sector strength and conditioning coach. His coaching experience includes Villanova University, the University of Georgia, and Becker College.
As a student at Guilford College, he was a team captain and linebacker on the NCAA Division III football team, as well as a sprinter and javelin thrower on the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He has contributed to more than ten scholarly journal articles, including research on injury rates and winning in the National Football League.
Outside the clinic, Dr. LaPlaca has completed the North Face Endurance Challenge Marathon, multiple CrossFit Opens, and an IRONMAN 70.3 relay with his brother.
